There are many bodies responsible for declaring to Insee any registration, cancellation and updates in the registry. They contribute to the daily update of the Sirene registry. On average, 10 000 updates are recorded in the registry every day.

Exhaustive geographic and economic coverage

Sirene records all enterprises and their establishments, whatever their legal form and their sector of activity are, and whether they're located in metropolitan France or in the overseas departments (Guadeloupe, Guyane, Martinique, Mayotte and Réunion) and Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. Foreign enterprises that are represented in France or carry out an activity there are also listed.

Moreover, when the database is prepared for dissemination, supplementary data are added to ensure that the Sirene® database is a useful operational tool.
